Coastal and Geotechnical Services was established in 2007 by Professor Robin McInnes OBE FICE FGS FRGS FRSA. Professor McInnes is a Chartered Geologist and Chartered Civil Engineer. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Engineering Geologists and has written over 50 technical papers and books on coastal management and ground instability issues.
Professor McInnes worked for local authorities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, UK for over 40 years, playing a key role as technical chairman of the ‘Standing Conference on Problems Associated with the Coastline’ (SCOPAC) from 1995-2009 and as Chairman of the Coastal Groups of England and Wales (2000-2007). He has been actively involved in coastal and geotechnical work at the international level for many years providing advice to the United Nations, the European Commission and other major clients.
In 2007 he was appointed OBE for ‘services to the coast’.

Coastal and Geotechnical Services can provide you with advice and guidance on International, National, Regional and Local policies and practice in relation to all aspects of integrated coastal zone management including physical processes, adaptation to coastal climate change and advice on funding opportunities for research.
Coastal and Geotechnical Services has a breadth of experience in providing guidance and good practice for the management of landslide risk, including community engagement and involvement.
Coastal and Geotechnical Services has extensive experience in the preparation of well-illustrated reports, guidance booklets, books and online resources on coastal and ground instability subjects.

Professor Robin McInnes OBE is available to visit universities and businesses offering illustrated lectures on coastal and landslide management.
University lectures are particularly suitable for geology, engineering geology and civil engineering Degree and Masters students and PhD researchers.
